Jason and Goliath

Do yourself a favor and save the date for Jason Murray’s Big Wave, Goliaths of the Pacific, show opening on Friday September 16, 2011 @ the KONA Gallery in San Clemente. Jason has circled the globe with the best big wave riders on the planet and has captured some of the heaviest moments you’ve likely ever seen. Just a heads up...Murray doesn’t do small so expect big things. Everything from the catering to the prints to the bar will be larger than life. Cortes Awakens

Winter must be here as our resident big wave photographer Jason Murray along with a stellar crew of chargers including Jeff Clark, Shane Dorian, Mike Parsons, Greg Long, Mark Healey and Ian Walsh attacked Mavericks and Cortes Bank on the same swell.

More Big Wave Hunting

There has been a group of big wave surfers who have been going non-stop this winter and photographer Jason Murray has been there every step of the way. Not sure when these guys sleep, but I'd bet that the adrenaline coursing through their veins has them pretty jacked up at this point. Check their most recent score off the coast of Northern Baja at a lovely little place called Isla Todos Santos.

Paddling at the Bank

A-Frame's big game hunter Jason Murray scored a session of a lifetime out at Cortes Bank. A select group of international big wave riders, as well as 9-time world champ Kelly Slater motored out to the Bank on December 26th and caught what some would say is the best paddle-in session the place has ever seen. Jason "Monster" Murray wins it. Finally!

We couldn't be more proud of A-Frame contributor Jason Murray after bringing home the "Monster Tube" photo award with his image of Mark Healey from a slab they call Yeti. We know how much work those guys put into chasing giant surf last year so it's nice to see them bring home the gold. Same goes for big wave gladiators Greg Long, Grant “Twiggy” Baker and Derek Dunfee. All of whom are true waterman and some of the most humble guys you’ll ever meet.
